Applied Biomimetic Products and Factory Reach Quality and Regulatory Certifications

Gaithersburg, MD, April 14, 2022 – Applied Biomimetic, a leader in the convergence of polymer and protein membrane technologies, is pleased to announce product and factory certifications.  

As part of its commitment to high quality standards and end user requirements for food contact applications, the Applied Biomimetic DairySepTM Ultrafiltration element product and its manufacturing facilities were inspected by outside institutions and agencies.  As a result, the following certifications have been awarded:

  • Applied Biomimetic’s quality system received ISO 9001:2015 certification after its audit by DNV Business Assurance for its research and development, sales and marketing and manufacturing for its membrane products.
  • The DairySepTM UF element received Halal certification as a food contact device, as inspected by Halal Watch World.
  • The DairySepTM UF element received kosher certification as a food contact device, as inspected by OU Kosher.
  • The DairySepTM UF element is compliant with Article 3 of Regulation EU 1935/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 October 2004 on materials and articles intended to come into contact with food,  and also with EU 10/2011 of 14 January 2011 on plastic materials and articles intended to come into contact with food.
